Alumni
Council and Executive Board
The 86-member Alumni Council is made up of alumni volunteers who are elected for three-year terms by fellow alumni. These Penn State alumni volunteer to help shape and influence the policies and direction of the association. The Council meets on two weekends a year; elects the association president (currently, Barry M. Simpson ’69) and determines the policies and programs to be carried out by the Alumni Association staff. In addition, Council members serve on a number of committees and task forces, to carry out specific objectives related to planning and implementing alumni programs and services. Executive Board, the governing body of Council, meets two additional weekends each year and is responsible for Alumni Association affairs between Council meetings. The Alumni Association staff and its dedicated Alumni Council volunteers work to provide the best for Penn State and its many constituents. The Alumni Association could not offer the extensive services and benefits it does without the effort of its volunteers. Some Council members are CEOs of major companies; others manage households. All are exceptional examples of Penn State excellence. Alumni
