Alumni Council Diversity Resolution

The Alumni Council is deeply alarmed and disheartened by the stream of hate-motivated acts on campus this semester. The appalling tenor of the words and actions of these offensive incidents is in opposition to the great aims of this University, and to the respectful treatment of human beings everywhere. The Alumni Council implores all those affiliated with the University to take a stand against discriminatory attitudes and behaviors, and to uphold the respect and dignity of all individuals.

The Alumni Association is committed to working with the University to find a long-term solution to the growing intolerance on campus. We advocate for a collaborative, sustained, proactive and comprehensive effort to combat the attitudes of bigotry and hatred. We must create an environment that confronts indifference and stamps out intolerance.
